Are you looking for reliable tips on choosing great party games for kid’s parties? So are a lot of parents, but finding tips that actually work is difficult. Here are a few parent-tested tips to help you get started.
Consider the Age of Your Guests
Nothing flattens a kid’s party faster than games that are too old or too young for the party-goers. Keep your party games age appropriate. This is easily accomplished by letting your child select a few games they like. Be sure to include a few games appropriate for both girls and boys or create different versions for boys and girls separately, and then pit the two teams against each other for a special prize.
Always Include Prizes
Playing games for the sake of entertainment is great, but playing for special prizes is much more fun for children! Game prizes can include edible treats, paper crowns for princes and princesses, noisemakers, coloring books and crayons, stickers, costume jewelry, candy, or even pocket change. Include your child in the planning process here as well and ask him or her what types of prizes they would like to receive.
Keep It Short
Keep the scheduled time for each party game short. Little minds have shorter attention spans. A game of musical chairs with 25 children is likely to become boring before a winner is announced. You can split larger groups of children up into small groups to play simultaneous version of the same game to reduce the playtime. Enlist a few willing parents to help you during the games if possible.
Provide Some Free Time
While having an action packed schedule looks good on paper, you do not want to wear out your guest of honor. It is a good idea to provide a few minutes of free time during the party schedule to allow your child to play with his guests. This equates into mingling at a child’s party. It is a good idea to allow some free playtime right after the cake and ice cream to help little ones run off excess energy.
Do Not Forget Manners
Make sure to cover party etiquette and manners with your guest of honor before the party begins. Make sure your child thanks each guest for coming and says thank you for each gift, even if the gift was an unwanted item. Review how your children should behave if they lose a game or do not get a prize they had hoped to receive.
Choosing great party games for kids parties is easy as long as you remember the goal is to have fun!

The company picnic is a very important aspect to many companies and firms. It is a great chance for co-workers to get together and see what and whom each other are working for. Taking the person out of the normal job duties, and putting them in a place where they are encouraged to have fun, encouraged to relax, and encouraged to enjoy the company and great food provided.
Many corporations have reported great results in both sales, happy customers, and a better working environment immediately following a successful company picnic event.
Picnic Games and Activities
There are all kinds of great games and activities which are available for company picnics. These days inflatable games are proving to be huge successes at all kinds of activities, and for an even longer period of time- classic picnic games like the tug-o-war, potato sack races, and other fun activities have been huge successes at all kinds of Portland Company Picnic events.
Picnic Food - Barbecue time!
Old fashioned picnic fare has been hugely popular at all kinds of special events and parties throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are talking about hamburgers, hot dogs, and potato or macaroni salad. But lately in our region people have been ordering ribs, chicken, and more notably- salmon has found it’s way onto many corporate picnic menus in the past several years.
Locations, Rental and Event Services
Finding the right place for your picnic can not only make a big determination on the attendance, but a nice area to host the event will also determine how long people will stick around, what kinds of activities and amenities are available to the group, and what kinds of rental services are required to pull off the event you are planning.

Inflatable games have come a long way from that brightly colored beach ball that showed up at family picnics at vacations at the beach. Today, the large selection of inflatable games available for family picnics, birthday parties and corporate events is nearly endless!
Inflatable Games for Kids
Bounce Houses
Inflatable games for children include the ever-popular bounce houses. These air filled vinyl rooms allow kids to romp and jump to their heart’s content without fear of hitting any solid objects. As long as the kids do not bounce into each other, these bounce houses provide hours of safe bouncing entertainment. The original bounce house was called the moonwalk, because the bouncy steps taken inside were similar to the astronauts’ low-gravity walk on the moon.
Bounce houses come in many different themed characters. Children can bounce on the belly of a dragon or a Dalmatian firefighter. Tigers, castles, and even cartoon characters like Sponge Bob, Cinderella, and Winnie Pooh all adorn the exteriors of bounce houses.
Giant Slides
Giant inflatable slides are popular inflatable games because they are suitable for even the most timid toddlers all the way up to the kid-at-heart. Giant slides come in various sizes and colors. Some slides offer the option to add water to the sliding surface for added fun in hot weather.
Inflatable Games for Adults and Older Children
Obstacle Courses
Inflatable games suitable for all ages include the inflatable obstacle course. These courses vary in type, but they all bring a healthy amount of fun and competition to any gathering. Variations on the obstacle course include water tag, jousting, bungee runs, Velcro walls, sumo wrestling, and inflatable mazes.
Inflatable Sports Games
Inflatable sports games are a popular choice for any type of get together. Inflatable baseball, fast pitch, basketball, and even inflatable dunk tanks all offer hours of wholesome enjoyment for every member of your party.
Inflatable Games
Some inflatable games bring new life to old favorites, such as giant inflatable Twister, the inflatable kid wash, the slip-n-slide, and the racecar speed track race.
Inflatable Games for Adults
Inflatable games for adults include inflatable over-sized slot machines, inflatable boxing rings, and rock walls combined with trust-building activities like rope courses and inflatable obstacles.
Inflatable games add instant fun to any gathering, party, or corporate event. Inflatable games are suitable for all ages and provide hours of fun and entertainment. Specially designed inflatable games for adults are used as team-building activities. The history of clowns can be traced back to antiquity. Records of clowns, jesters and royal fools have been found in ancient Egypt, Greece, and England. During the Middle Ages, clowns and jesters were a regular part of the royal court, providing comedic entertainment for the royal family and their guests.
Traditional Clowns and Jesters
Traditional royal clowns wore a standard uniform of green and saffron coat, colored hose, and a hooded cloak tipped with tiny bells that jangled as the performer moved about. These royal performers were renowned for performing great acts of skill while entertaining crowds in a comical manner.
The Spread of Clowning
Merchants and citizens outside of the royal court soon copied the mannerisms of royal jesters. During this period, a merchant may dress as a clown and perform a comic routine to draw business to his fruit stand. The popularity of clowns spread across England until 1642. The Puritan movement became popular in 1642 and the theaters were closed until 1660.
When theaters reopened, a new sedate form of entertainment took the place of clowning. The banned clowns resorted to peddling their entertainment wares on crudely fashioned stages, and at traveling carnivals. These juggling, tightrope walking, comedic performers were used to draw attention to fairgrounds. Clowns world often comically drag a spectator to the fairground gates to pay the admission fare.
The First Circus
In 1768, Philip Astley combined his love of acrobatic clowning with military trained horses in London to present the first circus, referring to the circular riding ring that the mounted clowns rode around during the performance. In 1782, one of Mr. Astley’s performers, Charles Hughes, founded the Royal Circus.
The Premier of the White Clown Face
In the early 1800’s, Joseph Grimaldi created a comedic clown character that included white face paint and over exaggerated facial expressions. This was the beginning of clowning greasepaint, still used today.
Clowning Comes to America
Clowning came to the United States in 1840 in a big way with the debut of Dan Rice’s comedic performance. He entertained crowds in his unique goatee, extra-tall top hat, blue leotard, and red and white tights. His clowning character was known as Yankee Dan and may have been the model for Uncle Sam. Mr. Rice’s performance is said to have been the inspiration for the inception of the Ringling Brothers Circus.
Clown College Begins
In response to the rapidly diminishing popularity of clowning as a profession in America, Irvin Feld founded Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1968. Clown College has grown in popularity since 1968 and over a thousand professional clowns have graduated from the program.
The encyclopedia Britannica defines a clown as “a familiar comic character of pantomime and circus, known by his distinctive makeup and costume, ludicrous antics, and buffoonery, whose purpose is to induce hearty laughter. The clown, unlike the traditional fool or court jester, usually performs a set routine characterized by broad, graphic humor, absurd situations, and vigorous physical action”. Professional and amateur clowns have been gleefully fulfilling this definition for centuries.
